Physocarpus opulifolius Little Angel ('Hoogi016') (PBR)

ninebark

Product Image
This award-winning ninebark has a well-branching structure with lots of lush foliage, which is bright orange-red when it first appears, but will mature to a darker shade of burgundy-red. This colouring is very useful for adding depth of colour and contrast to the mixed or shrub border, and in early summer, the clusters of white flowers (and subsequent fruit) offer even more interest.

A compact plant, Physocarpus opulifolius Little Angel will also look great in a pot on the patio.

How to care for Physocarpus opulifolius Little Angel ('Hoogi016') (PBR):

Plant ninebark in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot, keeping it well watered while it settles in. Once it’s established, remove up to a quarter of the oldest stems at ground level after flowering to keep the shape fresh and encourage new growth.

Finish by spreading a 5-7cm (2-3in) layer of well-rotted compost around the base to boost soil health and help lock in moisture.
