Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Bunny'

Chinese fountain grass

Product Image
A charming, compact, low-growing deciduous grass with decorative pinkish-white flowering ‘bottlebrush’ spikes that mature to a ‘bunny-brown’. Drought tolerant once established, Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Bunny' makes a great foreground companion for other mid- to late-season border plants such as hot and vibrant coloured dahlias and salvias, or the cool blues of Agastache ‘Blue Fortune’ and Agapanthus ‘Headbourne Hybrids’.

How to care for Pennisetum alopecuroides Little Bunny:

When planting add a scoop of well-rotted organic matter and perhaps some horticultural grit to improve drainage.

In autumn, add a generous layer of mulch to provide an insulating layer around the roots and leave the top growth for winter protection and interest.

Cut back the previous year's growth each spring to ground level.
