Cercis canadensis 'Texan White'

Texas eastern redbud 'Texas White' ( syn. Cercis reniformis 'Texas White' )

Product Image
Showy clusters of large white blooms make Cercis 'Texas White' a standout flowering tree. This spreading, multi-stemmed redbud cultivar bears abundant milky-white flowers up to 2.5cm (1in) long on bare branches before the heart-shaped leaves emerge. The waxy foliage starts out bronze before maturing to a glossy green, turning lovely shades of yellow in autumn while dangling seed pods provide extended seasonal interest.

Hardy and drought tolerant when established, this Texan native is an ideal focal point or specimen tree.

How to care for Cercis canadensis Texan White:

When planting, add some soil conditioner (well-rotted compost) to the planting hole and some mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment.

Ensure the top of the plant's compost is flush with the level of the surrounding soil and the collar of the tree is above ground level.

Support taller specimens either with a bamboo cane and or stake during establishment. Water generously around the base of the plant.
