Soil blocker hand tool mini 4 - seedlings & cuttings

Product Image
A brilliantly simple tool for raising seedlings without the need for plastic modules. Instead, it presses wet compost into neat, free-standing blocks, each with a small indentation ready for sowing.

This Mini 4 model makes four 5cm-square blocks at a time, which you can use for cuttings and seeds. Because the roots are exposed to the air, they naturally stop and branch rather than circling, which helps produce stronger, more transplant-ready plants with less shock when moved on.

How to make soil blocks:
  1. Moisten your compost until it holds together when squeezed - like a wrung-out sponge.
  2. Fit the inserts you need, then press the blocker firmly into the mix, packing each section well so the blocks hold their shape.
  3. Push down the plunger, then pull up the moulds to release the blocks into a seed tray. You can now sow or transplant into each indentation.
  4. When watering, pour into the tray rather than watering from above so blocks stay intact.

Please note: this comes with seed pins to make sowing holes for smaller seeds. Dowel pins for larger seeds/cuttings, and 2cm cube inserts for seedlings grown in the micro 20 blocks, are sold separately.
