Soil blocker hand tool micro 20 - seedlings

Product Image
This is an excellent little tool for anyone who likes to sow in quantity and wants to use less plastic in their propagating. Pushed into wet compost, it presses out twenty small 2cm blocks in one go, each with a neat indentation ready for seed. Particularly useful for finer sowings, or when you’re working with limited space.

It comes into its own at the earliest stage of growing, giving seedlings just enough room to get going before moving them into larger blocks (which you can make with the Mini 4 blocker and cube inserts). With no plastic cells, roots grow freely and transplanting is simple, with very little root disturbance.

Once you get used to it, there’s a nice rhythm to the process - quick, tidy and a satisfying way to raise a lot of seedlings at once.

How to make soil blocks:
  1. Mix your compost with water until it’s moist enough to hold together when squeezed.
  2. Press the blocker firmly into the compost, making sure each chamber is packed well.
  3. Push down the plunger, then pull up the moulds to release the blocks into a seed tray. You can now sow one seed into each indentation.
  4. Keep blocks evenly moist by watering into the tray, and move seedlings on once they’re ready for the next size block or pot.
