Scattered around plants, these wool pellets form a loose barrier that slugs and snails tend to avoid, as the fibres irritate their underside and make it difficult to move across.
Once watered, the pellets swell and knit together into a soft mulch. This not only helps protect plants, but also keeps moisture in the soil and gradually releases nutrients as it breaks down - improving growing conditions at the same time.
Ideal for young plants and veg crops, where early protection makes a noticeable difference, and a good option if you're trying to garden in a more wildlife-friendly way.
How to use:
Pots & baskets: Cover the entire surface up to the edge of the container with pellets.
Individual plants: Scatter a 10cm wide ring of pellets around the base of the plant.
Group of plants: Surround plants with a 10cm wide ring of pellets, leaving no gaps.
Once applied, water generously and leave the pellets to expand. 3.5 litres covers six 10” pots.
Store in a dry place. While pellets are usually harmless if ingested, we recommend keeping pets away from treated areas.
