Perhaps the epitome of elegance, we present our ultimate collection of green and white tulips, featuring vibrant lime green petals, delicate feathered whites, and a parade of pure white blooms with hints of fresh green accents, promising a mesmerising spring display that exudes freshness and sophistication.
In this combination you will receive the following:
- 10 × Tulipa 'Green Power': Radiating freshness akin to the first leaves of spring, 'Green Power' unveils petals of vibrant lime green, adorned with a delicate yellowish-green edge that retains its brilliance throughout the bloom's lifespan. Grows to 40cm.
- 10 × Tulipa 'Spring Green': An elegant tulip with broad, white, slightly feathered petals, each with a bright green central band. Perfect for a sunny, well-drained border where it will brighten up a spring day or for planting in pots on the patio. Grows to 40cm.
- 7 × Tulipa 'Super Parrot': A tulip that emerges with an imposing presence, boasting broad lance-shaped leaves in a soothing grey-green hue, bursting forth with an impressive display of sheer flower power, showcasing large, ruffled petals in a serene palette of pure white, accented with vibrant streaks of fresh green. Known for their longevity, the flowers of parrot tulips endure, making 'Super Parrot' a favoured ‘Pretty Polly’ for both floral arrangements and garden borders. Grows to 45cm.
- 10 × Tulipa 'Mondial': Peony-like flowers, which are made up of lots of lightly feathered pure white petals, top the stems of this double early tulip. The flowers have a light scent too, so plant them in a border near a seating area or path - or pot them up for the patio. Grows to 35cm.
Using fresh, good-quality compost, plant bulbs in pots from September to November. For borders, we advise waiting until after the first frosts (typically mid-October to early December depending on your location) to reduce the risk of potential disease such as Tulip Fire. Plant bulbs 15-20cm (6-8in) deep and 10-15cm (4-6in) apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq or 60-75 bulbs per m². If you’re unable to plant your bulbs immediately, they can be stored in a cool environment with good air circulation. Remove all the packaging and place them in a loose-weave jute sack before labelling and hanging up in a dry, unheated garden shed or well-ventilated greenhouse.
In spring, when the plants are in active growth, apply a high-potash fertiliser (like Tomorite) each week until the leaves start to die back. Pinch off the spent flower heads as the petals fall, and let the stem and foliage die back naturally. The bulbs can then be lifted and discarded, or cleaned, dried and stored (as before) for replanting the following autumn.
