These decorative evergreen groundcovering plants can be used to great effect in troughs, alpine beds, stone walls and even to soften the gaps between paving slabs. In this collection, you will receive 6 different un-named types.
They are all quite different, but they all have rosettes of succulent leaves and clusters of star-shaped summer flowers. After each rosette has produced flowers it will die off, but it is soon replaced with a new lateral rosette that will form on a runner.
Please note that the ceramic pot shown in some of the images is not included. They do however make excellent potted plants, and if you wish to pot yours up, we do have a wide range of pots on our website to choose from.
How to care for Sempervivum collection:
Plant Sempervivum in full sun with very sharp drainage, using gravel, grit or a rock-garden mix to keep the roots dry. Water lightly during active growth in spring and summer, then keep almost dry through autumn and winter to prevent rot.
Remove dead rosettes after flowering, and with spreading types you can cut back spent flowered rosettes to keep the clump tidy. Lift and replant offsets if you want to expand or refresh the display, and avoid overly rich soil or shade, as this leads to weak, elongated growth.
