Flourishing in sunny spots with freely draining soil, 'Cerro Petosi' will often flower non-stop throughout summer and well into autumn. It makes a fantastic, low-maintenance and hard working addition to the border, and will also perform well if potted for the patio.
How to care for Salvia microphylla Cerro Potosi:
To prolong flowering remove the flower spikes as soon they start to fade. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring. Protect from excessive cold and waterlogged soils and cut back the old stems in spring after the new growth has started to emerge.
