Immaculately formed pure white flowers add colour to the late spring and early summer garden. Plant more Ranunculus asiaticus 'Aviv White' than you think you need, and you'll have plenty of extras for the vase.
How to care for Ranunculus asiaticus Aviv White (Aviv Series):
Ranunculus corms can be planted in autumn or spring in either open ground or containers. Choose a sunny, well-drained site for beds and enrich the soil with compost or well-rotted manure, or use a free-draining potting mix for containers at least 15-20?cm (6-8?in) deep. Plant the corms 8cm (3in) deep and 8cm (3in) apart, with the talon-like “fingers” pointing downwards.
In open ground, space rows 25-30cm (10-12in) apart to allow good airflow and room for growth, while in containers, place them in a sunny spot and maintain the same spacing and depth.
Water lightly after planting and keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, particularly while shoots and flowers are developing. Once shoots and flowers are developing. Once shoots appear, feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every one to two weeks and deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming. Mulching outdoor beds helps retain moisture and suppress weeds, while containers may need more frequent watering.
In colder regions, lift corms from the ground before heavy frost or move containers to a frost-free spot, storing them in a dry place to protect them over winter.
