Pulsatilla vulgaris

pasque flower

Product Image
Silky, much-divided foliage is topped with golden-centred purple flowers from mid-to-late spring and afterwards attractive silvery seedheads develop on the upright stems creating further interest. Tolerant of drought once established.

How to care for Pulsatilla vulgaris:

Plant in a sunny spot with sharply drained soil, setting it in firmly and watering once to help it settle. Avoid disturbing the roots when weeding or reworking the border, as they dislike being moved, and add a light mulch of gravel or coarse grit to keep the crown dry.

After flowering, let the foliage die back naturally and remove old growth in late winter to make room for fresh shoots.
