Plant Pulmonaria in moist, humus-rich soil in partial to full shade, setting the rootball level with the soil surface and watering well to settle it in. Keep the soil consistently damp through the growing season, especially in dry spells, and add a mulch of compost in spring to help the plant hold moisture and stay vigorous.
After flowering, tidy the plant by removing tired leaves to encourage a flush of fresh growth, and lift and divide congested clumps every three to five years to keep them healthy.
