Pulmonaria 'Sissinghurst White'

lungwort

Product Image
Delicate, pure-white, funnel-shaped flowers in early spring and white-spotted, bright-green leaves. This dainty pulmonaria is perfect for shady areas. One of the first to flower, Pulmonaria 'Sissinghurst White' looks lovely alongside miniature daffodils. Best in a soil that remains moist over summer, since mildew can take hold if the roots dry out.

How to care for Pulmonaria Sissinghurst White:

Plant Pulmonaria in moist, humus-rich soil in partial to full shade, setting the rootball level with the soil surface and watering well to settle it in. Keep the soil consistently damp through the growing season, especially in dry spells, and add a mulch of compost in spring to help the plant hold moisture and stay vigorous.

After flowering, tidy the plant by removing tired leaves to encourage a flush of fresh growth, and lift and divide congested clumps every three to five years to keep them healthy. If mildew appears, cut affected foliage right back to the base, then water and feed; new leaves will grow cleanly later in the season.
