Perfect for cottage garden planting, mixed perennial borders or feature groups, these irises create a refined early summer display combining soft cottage garden tones with elegant flower forms. Delicate blends of violet, lavender, cream and buttery yellow create a harmonious palette, while the ruffled blooms provide texture and contrast against neat, sword-shaped foliage.
Their graceful stems and luminous flowers also make them excellent choices for a cut flower garden, adding colour, form and charm both outdoors and indoors.

How to care for Iris collection:
Plant the rhizomes as soon as possible after they arrive in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Set each rhizome shallowly so the top is exposed and sits just above the soil surface, with the roots spread out beneath.
Avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers, which encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers; instead, apply a balanced or low-nitrogen fertiliser when planting if required. Water well after planting, then only during prolonged dry spells while the plants establish.
Remove spent flower stems back to the base once flowering has finished to direct the plant's energy into developing strong new rhizomes. Lift, divide replant overcrowded clumps every 3-5 years, ideally in late summer, to maintain vigorous growth and reliable flowering.
Avoid covering the rhizomes with mulch, as they benefit from warmth and sunlight and may rot if kept too wet.

What's included:
In this collection you will receive the following rhizomes:
1 × Iris 'Burgermeister': Bred by the hybridizer Schreiner and introduced in 1987, ‘Burgermeister’ is described as a first rate garden plant. Between May June rosy violet falls and soft buff cream standards subtly infused with a hint of lavender in the midribs emerge with fans of sword-shaped, grey-green leaves. Grows to 75cm.
1 × Iris 'Edith Wolford': An eye-catching iris, with lovely ruffled flowers that are made up with a topknot of pale buttery-yellow standards, which sit above the rich violet falls. Appearing from May to June, the large flowers appear on sturdy stems, which rise from amongst the lance-shaped foliage. 'Edith Wolford' looks great when teamed with the yellow Tulipa 'Honky Tonk', or contrast it with the deeply coloured Tulipa 'Queen of Night'. Grows to 75cm.
1 × Iris 'English Cottage': The large flowers of this bearded iris are subtly infused with both lilac and yellow, creating an almost ethereal yet luminous head that looks wonderful in the low light. As its name suggests, this gorgeous plant is well suited to the English cottage garden, where it will flourish in a sun-baked spot. Grows to 75cm.
