A striking bromeliad, which forms a rosette of lush green leaves from which an upright flowerspike is jettisoned. The flowers themselves are tiny, but the sheath of leaf-like bracts are a sumptuous pink colour.

How to care for Guzmania Voilà:
Keep in a consistently warm room, never below 15°C (59°F). Provide bright, indirect light but avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. These bromeliads take up water and nutrients through their leaves, so mist them regularly during the summer to maintain humidity.
Water into the central rosette, or 'cup', allowing it to hold some fresh water as it would in the wild. Empty and refresh the cup every week or so to prevent water from going stagnant. Keep the compost just lightly moist and never waterlog the pot, letting the surface dry slightly between waterings.
Use a free-draining compost, similar to orchid mix, with added bark or perlite for aeration. Feed lightly with a dilute, balanced fertiliser during the growing season, misting it over the leaves or adding to the rosette rather than the soil.
As the plant matures, it will produce offsets or 'pups', which can be separated and potted into fresh compost to grow on.
