Erysimum 'Winter Berry'

perennial wallflower

Product Image
Packed with colour when the garden needs it most, this neat evergreen perennial earns its place with months of reliable flowering and an easy-going nature. Slender, dark green leaves form a bushy, compact mound that stays tidy year-round, making it ideal for the front of borders, containers, or sunny gravel gardens.

From late winter right through to summer, softly fragrant pink to pinkish-purple flowers appear in generous clusters, providing early nectar for bees and other pollinators just as they start to emerge. Erysimum ‘Winter Berry’ performs best in full sun, where the colour is strongest and flowering is most generous, and it’s happiest in neutral to alkaline, well-drained soil.

How to care for Erysimum Winter Berry:

Growing Erysimum in well-drained soil/growing medium is advised. Where frosts are severe, provide horticultural fleece protection and mulch with a thick layer of well-rotted organic matter to insulate the roots against the cold. Trimming after flowering will help prevent the plant from becoming leggy.
