Cissus striata | Houseplant

parthenocissus ( syn. Parthenocissus striata )

Product Image
Cissus striata is an eye-catching trailing houseplant with slender, arching stems covered in neatly divided, glossy green leaves that fan out like small starbursts. Its lush foliage creates a fresh, textured look that softens shelves, cupboards, or hanging displays as it cascades down with ease.

Easy to grow and low-maintenance, this unusual indoor climber brings a natural, elegant touch to modern and traditional interiors alike.

How to care for Cissus striata:

Originating from tropical regions, they like relatively stable temperatures (ideally above 15°C) and a well-lit position that does not get direct sunlight (think steamy jungle!). Water regularly in the growing season, making sure the compost gets dry to the touch before repeating the process, and cut back a little in winter.

Often referred to as the sugar grape, they can produce lots of tiny beads of an (inedible) sugary substance on the foliage. This is completely harmless and can either be brushed or washed off.
