The honey-scented flowers of Buddleja davidii 'Wisteria Lane' are really long (up to 50cm), and they are pendent, so hang wisteria-like from the branches.
A relatively compact butterfly bush, it can be grown in a large patio pot, but it also looks great (and will help attract loads of butterflies) in a mixed border or when used to create an informal screen.
How to care for Buddleja davidii Wisteria Lane (PBR):
Plant out as soon conditions allow, avoiding frozen or waterlogged soil. Incorporate well-rotted manure or garden compost and perhaps some mycorrhizal fungi into the soil when planting.
Keep well-watered during warm weather until the plant has settled in fully, and once the plant has become established, prune it hard each year in March, cutting all of the previous year's growth back to within two to four buds from the base.
