Forming a dense mound of foliage, which emerges bright yellow in spring and takes on a fresh lime-green colour as it matures, this low-growing shrub looks great towards the front of a border where it will contrast well with rich plums and purples. Primarily grown for its colourful foliage, which will turn bright red in autumn before it falls, the small yellow flowers it produces in late spring and early summer are a bonus.
