Astrantia major 'Venice' (PBR)

masterwort

Product Image
A standout herbaceous perennial known for its striking deep red flowers, which are surrounded by rich burgundy-purple bracts that form a rosette-like pattern. Flowering from June to August, 'Venice' offers a longer blooming period than many other masterworts, making it an excellent choice for summer borders. The plant thrives in moist, humus-rich soil and performs well in shaded areas. Ideal for cutting, the flowers make long-lasting additions to fresh or dried arrangements, adding both beauty and elegance to any garden or floral display.

How to care for Astrantia major Venice (PBR):

Incorporate plenty of organic matter when planting and water well in dry weather especially newly established plants. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring and apply a generous 5-7 cm mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost around the plant. Divided specimens may take some time to establish since they don't like having their roots disturbed.
