100 days of spring promise pot collection

Product Image
This tulip and pansy collection offers rich colour, layered textures, and long-lasting seasonal interest from winter through to late spring. Expect big, double tulip blooms in warm apricot and deep purple tones, balanced with ruffled burgundy pansies that add early colour and detail. It’s ideal for pots, borders or cutting, and perfect for anyone wanting a bold, low-fuss display that keeps evolving through the season. A great choice for adding impact to smaller spaces or refreshing tired winter planters.

If purchased with the pot option, and perhaps as an all-inclusive gift, the embossed aged planter (large Ø46.5 × H31cm) will provide a visually attractive container, as imaged.

Please note that the pansies in this collection can flower from late autumn but that the main display will be between March and April.

Bulbs and plants in this collection may be dispatched separately but timed to arrive during their ideal planting periods. The bulbs will be delivered first and can be planted straight away. The pansies, which are to be planted on top, can be planted later when they arrive.

How to care for 100 days of spring promise pot collection:

Using fresh, good-quality compost, plant bulbs in pots from September to November. For borders, we advise waiting until after the first frosts (typically mid-October to early December depending on your location) to reduce the risk of potential disease such as Tulip Fire. Plant bulbs 15-20cm (6-8in) deep and 10-15cm (4-6in) apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Alternatively, allow 7-9 bulbs per 30cm sq or 60-75 bulbs per m². If you’re unable to plant your bulbs immediately, they can be stored in a cool environment with good air circulation. Remove all the packaging and place them in a loose-weave jute sack before labelling and hanging up in a dry, unheated garden shed or well-ventilated greenhouse.

For the pansies in this collection, plant out in compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is not frozen or prone to waterlogging. Protect young plants from slug and snail damage using environmentally friendly pellets, beer traps or alternative methods available in our slug and snail control selection. Deadhead the spent blooms to prolong flowering.

In spring, when the plants are in active growth, apply a high-potash fertiliser (like Tomorite) each week until the leaves start to die back. Pinch off the spent flower heads as the petals fall, and let the stem and foliage die back naturally. The bulbs can then be lifted and discarded, or cleaned, dried and stored (as before) for replanting the following autumn.
