Terracotta vase planter
This is the body of our very popular strawberry planter, only without the planting holes and pockets. A soft, slender elegant shape that looks a real classic.
We think this is a shoo-in for trailing plants that will tumble nicely over the sides. Or fill it with bulbs, replacing them when spent to give you a prolonged season of colour.
These are hand thrown in Turkey from local clay and will age and develop an attractive patina as the salts leach to the surface. Each one is high-fired to 1080°C to make it as frost resistant as possible. For extra protection we recommend raising it on pot feet and moving it to a sheltered spot in the colder months. Supplied with a large pre-drilled drainage hole.
Please note: white specks in the terracotta are lime granules, which occur naturally in raw Turkish clay. Occasionally when pots are fired the clay around them can split out a little, but this won’t compromise the pot’s strength. Lime helps to bind the clay and ultimately makes for a stronger pot. As the pots are hand thrown, the measurements are approximate.
