This hand-thrown terracotta pot makes a natural home for fresh mint. Its compact size works beautifully on a patio or doorstep, near the kitchen door, or on an outdoor table with mint spilling over the top.

Mint is a vigorous grower, so a pot is a good way to keep it contained while still giving you plenty of fresh leaves for summer drinks, salads and sauces.

Handmade in Turkey from local clay, the porous terracotta lets air and moisture move naturally around the roots. There are no drainage holes, as the narrow opening limits the amount of rain getting in, while the clay itself allows moisture to evaporate.

Each pot is fired to 1080°C for frost resistance and will develop a lovely patina over time. Natural lime specks and occasional small surface splits are characteristic of Turkish clay and won’t affect the pot’s strength. As with all terracotta, we’d recommend moving it to a sheltered spot in the colder months.

Please note: as these are hand thrown they’ll vary slightly in height and diameter, so the measurements given are approximate.
