Terracotta bumblebee pot
Give your little garden heroes a safe place to rest after a hard day’s pollen hunting. This cosy bumblebee pot is made from terracotta with a blue area around the bamboo doorway to help bees find their way in.
To encourage bees to take up residence, stand it on the ground in a sheltered spot in early spring. Adding in some dry nesting material such as straw, leaves, wool or moss will make it all the more inviting. Leave it in place, undisturbed, throughout spring and summer as bees will seek to return to the same spot.
Once bees have buzzed off in autumn, you can empty it out and give it a good clean with hot soapy water ready for next year.
