Sharp sand is a useful addition to the potting shed, especially when you're growing plants that don’t like sitting in wet compost. Its coarse, gritty texture helps open up growing mixes, allowing excess water to drain away and air to reach developing roots.

Mix it into seed and cutting compost, add it to potting mixes for alpines and other plants that prefer sharp drainage, or use it as part of a lawn top dressing. It’s also handy for mixing into compost when preparing containers for bulbs and other plants that need free-draining conditions.

Approximate packed weight 20kg (this may vary depending on water content).
