Falling autumn leaves are a boon for organic gardeners. Composted down, they're a rich source of nutrients for the forthcoming spring's planting.
If you don’t have a compost bin, or yours is small, the leaves shed by even one small tree can be overwhelming. These loose weave jute sacks will each hold thousands of leaves and keep them neatly contained while they break down.
Just fill the sack, leave it in a corner of the garden and forget about it. In time, the leaves and sack will both biodegrade, leaving you with lovely leaf mould compost to enrich the garden.
After a year, they should have rotted down enough to use as a mulch around the garden. Wait two years and you'll have a perfect soil conditioner to dig into beds and borders.
