Arching branches with oval, dark green foliage that carry fragrant, semi-double pure white flowers from early to mid-summer. 'Dame Blanche' is a compact, bushy, deciduous shrub that will gently perfume the air, especially if planted in a semi-sheltered courtyard. Great for gateways and entrances.
How to care for Philadelphus Dame Blanche:
When planting 'Dame Blanche' ensure the roots are firmly covered with well-rotted compost or manure and add a sprinkling of mycorrhizal fungi into the planting hole. Mulch around the roots in spring with a deep layer of conditioned organic matter. Once established, prune immediately after flowering, removing one in four of the older stems to ground level.
