Pennisetum orientale 'Karley Rose' is an easy-to-grow, clump-forming ornamental fountain grass that reaches up to 60cm (2ft) in height. It features arching, dark green linear foliage and tall stems that produce abundant, silky rose-pink flower plumes, 10-14cm (4-5in) in length resembling soft bottlebrushes. Blooming from July through September, it offers excellent late summer and autumn interest.
Thriving in sheltered, full-sun locations with well-drained soil, this cultivar is ideal for adding striking texture and contrasting colour to borders, rockeries, and patio containers. Additionally, its fluffy panicles make a beautiful addition to summer cut flower displays.

How to care for Pennisetum orientale Karley Rose (PBR):
When planting add a scoop of well-rotted organic matter and perhaps some horticultural grit to improve drainage. Feed with a general purpose fertiliser during the growing season.
In autumn, add a generous layer of mulch to provide an insulating layer around the roots and leave the top growth for winter protection and interest.
Cut back the previous year's growth each spring to ground level, and if necessary, lift and divide over-large clumps before the new-seasons growth commences.
