Narcissus 'Pastorale'
large cupped daffodil bulbs
This bulb dies back after flowering each year and enters a period of rest ahead of regrowth the following season.
- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or peat-free general purpose potting compost
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: March to April
- Hardiness: fully hardy
A truly remarkable mid season narcissus with an elegant combination of off white petals and a buttercream coloured cup, lightly scented, that contrasts beautifully with other yellow and white daffodils. Robust and weather resistant, as well as unappetising for deer and rabbits, this naturalising herald of spring is equally at home in woodland or herbaceous borders, and patio pots where its sturdy blooms can be enjoyed indoors in a long-live cut flower display.
Wearing gloves, plant bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) deep from late summer to early autumn. After flowering feed with a balanced fertiliser, deadhead and allow the leaves to die back naturally.
- Humans/Pets: Harmful if eaten; skin irritant
