Scatter the calendulas petals, peppery nasturtium leaves and dill flowers over salads to give them a bit of extra oomph, or use the nasturtiums flowers as a edible garnish. The dill flowers can also be used in a similar way as the foliage - to flavour vegetables, pickles or fish dishes.

In this collection you will receive one packet of seed for each of the following varieties.

    • Tropaeolum Black Velvet: This compact, non-trailing nasturtium has deep-red flowers that have a velvety texture and look almost black in low light. They appear in great profusion over a prolonged period and the best display is produced when they are grown in full sun with poor soil. When planted in the kitchen garden they will help repel whitefly, while attracting blackflies away from the crops. Grows to 30cm.

    • Calendula officinalis 'Indian Prince': Each burnt orange petal has a mahogany reverse, adding to the the flowers rich colouring. The flowers top taller than average stems, which makes them particularly good for cutting and popping into a vase. A prolific flowerer, this fresh annual is easy to grow in most most soils. Grows to 60cm.

    • dill 'Dukat': A particularly fine-flavoured variety that has been selected by us as it tends to produce more foliage before it runs to seed. It provides a delicious flavouring and the pretty, feathery foliage looks at home anywhere in the garden, making a lovely foil to your flowers. The flowers have a similar flavour to the leaves Grows to 50cm.
