If you have the shelter of a greenhouse available this is the perfect cucumber variety to grow. It's an all-female variety, so you don't have to worry about removing male flowers: it just keeps on producing a heavy yield of long, elegant fruits which are just what a cucumber should be, smooth-skinned, juicy, and absolutely delicious.

  • Growing Instructions:Sow seeds into a 9cm pot of seed compost in late spring and keep warm in a propagator or on a sunny windowsill. Once seedlings have produced three true leaves, pot on individually. When plants are about 10cm tall, plant out into large containers or the greenhouse border as long as they can be kept frost-free. Protect young plants against slugs. Cucumbers prefer a moist atmosphere so spray the floor of the glasshouse with water in dry conditions to maintain humidity.

  • Sow: February-April
