The sight of yellow daffodils in spring cannot fail to lift the spirits. The ones we have included in this collection are compact in habit, so are ideal for pots, containers or windowboxes, but can also be used for naturalising in bold drifts in the lawn or border. All of these daffodils have been awarded the AGM by the Royal Horticultural Society, which is bestowed upon plants that are proven to be outstanding performers.
All the varieties below flower best in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil that remains moist during winter and spring.

How to care for Award-winning compact daffodils:
Once planted, Narcissus spp. are low-maintenance plants that will generate an abundant display of fresh flowers through late winter and spring. Plant them in autumn, in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, where they will receive sun for most (if not all) of the day. The shape and size of daffodil bulbs will vary from species to species, but they should all be planted approximately 10-15cm (4-6in) deep, and with their pointy tips uppermost. planting, water in well and apply a general-purpose fertiliser to encourage the development of strong roots.
In spring, after the flowers have faded, nip off the spent flowerheads, but the stems and leaves should be allowed to die back naturally. In this way, they can then draw their energy back down into the bulb, where it can be stored for the next year's growth.
Daffodils also do extremely well in pots or window boxes filled with a good-quality potting compost. For a one-off seasonal treat, they can be planted shallowly and more densely, and perhaps topped with seasonal bedding such as winter-flowering pansies and primroses. After they’ve flowered they can then be re-planted as above in the borders or lawn.

10 × Narcissus 'Angel's Breath': With several sturdy, upright stems emerging from every bulb, adorned with pale yellow flowers, this mid-season bloomer offers a captivating display. The soft lemon-yellow blooms, typically numbering 3 to 5 per bulb, gently nod on robust 15cm (6in) stems. 'Angel's Breath' belongs to the Triandrus daffodil family, boasting narrow, slightly reflexed petals that add to its allure. Perfectly suited for window boxes, rock gardens, or as a delightful border accent, promising to infuse any space with its delicate beauty. Grows to 20cm.
10 × Narcissus 'Tête-à-tête': One of the most popular miniature daffodils, from late February it will produce between one and three, slightly nodding, golden yellow flowers per stem. Perfect for pots. Grows to 22cm.
10 × Narcissus 'Sun Disc': Slender foliage and round, flat-faced flowers, which appear in mid-April, give this jonquil a dainty appearance. A fast grower, it will quickly form a good-sized clump. Grows to 18cm.
10 × Narcissus 'Sabrosa': The compact habit of this miniature daffodil makes it perfect for underplanting the seasonal display in pots and windowboxes, but it will also look great when used to line (or fill gaps in) the front of the border. The flowers are scented, so will also make an excellent addition to a posy. Grows to 10cm.
10 × Narcissus 'Jetfire': A sturdy daffodil with distinctive flowers that have dramatically swept back golden yellow petals surrounding a bright orange trumpet. A delight in March and April. Grows to 20cm.
10 × Narcissus 'Minnow': Clusters of up to five pale yellow flowers, which fade to a soft cream as they mature, appear on each stem in April. They are easily established beneath deciduous trees or shrubs. Grows to 20cm.
