pansy 'Cool Wave Violet Wing'

pansy (syn. Viola × wittrockiana)

New
Product Image
This exceptional pansy brings sculptural drama through its uniquely prostrate habit and mesmerising colour combination.

Pansy 'Cool Wave Violet Wing' delivers an extraordinary floral performance with blooms featuring a deep purple cap dramatically contrasting against a cheerful white-and-yellow centre that evolves beautifully across autumn, winter, and spring landscapes.

More vigorous and spreading than traditional pansies, this cultivar requires no pinching and demonstrates remarkable resilience, bouncing back from harsh weather conditions that would devastate lesser plants.

Ideal for hanging baskets, window boxes, and ground cover applications, 'Cool Wave Violet Wing' offers gardeners an exceptional trailing cultivar that produces continuous displays of medium-sized, lightly scented flowers with outstanding overwintering performance.

Whether softening the edges of containers, creating dynamic combinations with other plants, or providing a bold groundcover solution, this pansy brings a professional designer's touch to every garden setting, thriving in conditions that would challenge more delicate cultivars.

How to care for Viola × wittrockiana Cool Wave Violet Wing:

Pot-grown plants can be planted out or potted up into compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neither frozen nor prone to waterlogging.

Keep well watered, and feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis. Pinching off the spent flowers will encourage more to form.

Protect young plants from slug damage using natural barriers such as coarse grit, copper bands, or other non-chemical solutions that are available in our slug and snail control selection.
