cauliflower or Brassica oleracea (Botrytis Group) 'Igloo'
Trouble-free to grow and very productive, this little cauli is perfect for growing in containers or in small gardens where space is limited. Pack them in at close spacings for 'mini-veg' which are in and out of the ground in double-quick time, and cut the curds at tennis-ball size to enjoy them at their most sweet and tender. They will however also grow into larger cauliflowers with wider spacings: so allow 45cm between plants for larger curds.
Growing instructions:
Sow into a well-prepared seed bed in drills, thinning seedings to 2.5cm apart and planting into final growing spaces once they have five or six leaves, allowing 20cm between plants. They can also be planted straight into containers in early spring, about 4 plants to a 45cm container. Protect from slugs and net against pigeons.
