The fly in the ointment when it comes to sitting on benches is there’s usually nowhere to rest your cup (or plate if you’re having a spot of lunch). This design puts paid to that little problem.
The seat has a pop-up section in the middle that lifts up to become a small table. When you don’t need it, it can be collapsed down to become part of the seat again.
We love adjustable things that make themselves useful in more than one way. This is ideal for a smaller garden where everything has to earn its place. With the table down it has more than enough space to seat three people.
It’s made from FSC acacia timber, so it’s durable and weather resistant as well as sustainably produced. An antique grey wash gives the wood an extra layer of protection. The bench will be delivered packed flat with instructions and is easy to assemble.
Care and maintenance
Acacia furniture will need to be shielded from the elements when not in use. A weatherproof cover will protect it from scorching sun or rain. Through the winter months, we recommend storing the bench in a cool, sheltered but well-ventilated place like a shed or garage.
In time you may need to lightly sand the top layer of wood and apply a wood protector to refresh the bench. As wood is a natural product that can expand and shrink under different weather conditions, we recommend that you tighten the screws every now and then.
You can wash off any dirt and debris with a mild soapy solution and a soft sponge or cloth.
