This ‘Supersweet’, late-season variety produces two well-filled, delicious cobs per plant. ‘Goldcrest’ is a reliable performer for the British summer, although it may need some support in very windy conditions. Avoid growing next to other varieties to prevent cross-pollination if you want the cobs to retain their sweet taste.
Growing instructions:
Sow seeds undercover from early spring in pots or modules at 70°F (21°C) until germination occurs approx 2-3 weeks later. Plant out from late May following a period of hardening off. Alternatively, sow direct from late spring in a grid pattern to ensure pollination. Cobs are ready to harvest when the tassels have turned brown.
