Thriving in humid, warm and indirectly lit conditions, 'Misty' is a remarkable bromeliad with evergreen, glossy, lance-shaped leaves which extend up to 30cm (12in) in length. As summer arrives, an impressive stem skyrockets from the heart of the rosette, showcasing a captivating flame-like inflorescence bedecked with vivid red bracts, each adorned with numerous long and pointed creamy yellow tips. This stunning floral spectacle persists for months, signalling the conclusion of the parent rosette's life cycle. However, this phase often ushers in new offset plants, sprouting around the original cluster.

How to care for Guzmania Misty:
Guzmania prefers a warm, indirectly lit and humid environment with a reliable temperature above 15°C (59°F), avoiding draughts. The plant feeds and absorbs moisture through its foliage, so maintain humidity by misting the leaves regularly throughout the summer. Most importantly, don't overwater - let the soil dry out between watering, maintaining any central cup with about a quarter full of distilled or rainwater if possible.
