'Silver Spirit' is a quick-growing ‘super rex’ begonia with a bushy habit, with large, evergreen leaves, predominantly silver in colour, featuring a striking dark purple and red central star, beautifully complemented by a dark picotee edge. These impressive leaves can exceed 30cm in length, making this popular shade tolerant houseplant a standout addition to any indirectly lit room. Small pink flowers populate periodically at times throughout the year.

How to care for Begonia Silver Spirit:
Rex begonias require special care during the summer months. It's best to keep them in shaded areas and provide ample watering, ensuring proper drainage and maintaining a humid atmosphere around the plants. Avoid wetting the leaves or the crown.
As winter approaches, reduce the frequency of watering. Allow the compost surface to dry out before watering again. These begonias thrive with a minimum winter temperature of 13°C (55°F) across all varieties.
For optimal growth, feed them every two weeks from May to September using a high nitrogen fertiliser.
