This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

Insects and alpine enthusiasts adore this hardy spring aubretia for its nectar-rich pure white flowers over light-green foliage, and its cascading capacity to tumble over walls and across rockeries. ‘Axcent White' will carpet its spreading foliage with blooms, making it perfect for pots, edging well-drained sunny borders, and trailing over drystone walls.
For optimal growth, plant Aubretia in well-draining soil with neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Provide at least half a day of sun to maintain its compact form and abundant flowering. Avoid planting in soils prone to waterlogging, especially in winter, and trim lightly after flowering to promote bushiness and potentially a second bloom. Feed lightly with a general-purpose liquid fertiliser in spring, and during dry spells, ensure the plant receives adequate water to support establishment. In early autumn, prune back 25-50% to maintain a dense, bushy appearance.
