This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moist, humus-rich soil
  • Rate of growth: average to fast
  • Flowering period: June to July
  • Hardiness: borderline hardy (may need winter protection)

A compact, semi-evergreen perennial that showcases lance-shaped dark green leaves, and from early to late summer, upright spikes of nodding, bell-shaped flowers that are rich pink on the outside and pale pink to cream in the throats. Unlike most foxgloves, which have a short flowering season, 'Arctic Fox Rose' offers long-lasting blooms and flowers in its first year, making it a valuable addition to any cottage garden scheme.

  • Garden care:
This short-lived perennial foxglove thrives in most soil types and conditions, except for very wet or very dry areas. For optimal growth, plant it in a sheltered, warm spot with humus-rich soil in light or partial shade. To encourage more flowers, deadhead spent blooms regularly. Cut back flowering spikes after flowering.
    • Humans/Pets: TOXIC if eaten
