Fuchsia 'Seventh Heaven'
trailing fuchsia
This shrub is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
- Position: full sun or partial shade
- Soil: moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or general-purpose compost for containers
- Rate of growth: fast
- Flowering period: May to October
- Hardiness: frost tender (will need winter protection)
The ballerina frilled, flamingo coloured double blooms of 'Seventh Heaven' dance along the length of trailing stems all summer long creating a magnificent mass of complementary pink and white for hanging baskets, window boxes, and patio pots. A large flowered Fuchsia (up to 6cm across!) that dazzles above dark blue-green leaves.
To encourage growth, pinch out the growing tips of young plants after the sixth or seventh pair of leaves. During the growing season water regularly, and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each month. Protect plants from frost, and overwinter potted plants in a conservatory or greenhouse.
- Humans/Pets: Fruit are ornamental - not to be eaten
