This shrub is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.

  • Position: full sun or partial shade
  • Soil: moist but well-drained soil with a neutral to acidic pH
  • Rate of Growth: average
  • Flowering period: May to June
  • Hardiness: fully hardy

  • A shrubby, broad-topped, small tree or large shrub with wide spreading horizontal branches which tend to weep with oval, slightly toothed, glossy dark green leaves. During early summer, 'Pink Chimes' features small pendulous clusters of bell-shaped, mildly fragrant, pale pink, long-stalked flowers with showy yellow stamens. A specimen shrubby tree that thrives in moist but well-drained, loamy, acid to neutral soil but needs shelter from cold drying winds.

  • Garden care: Choose a spot in the garden that is sheltered from cold winds. Cut back crossing or damage stems in late winter or early spring. Apply a generous mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant in early spring.
