Rhododendron (Aronense Group) 'Kazuko'
evergreen azalea (syn. Geisha Red)
This shrub is semi-evergreen, so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new foliage appears again in spring.
Producing masses of small, funnel shaped, lipstick red flowers in late spring and early summer, this compact, semi-evergreen azalea makes a great, year-round patio plant. Coping well in extremes of climates, 'Kazuko' requires moist, well-drained ericaceous compost or humus-rich, acid soil.
