This vigorous, heavy-cropping variety produces delicious, snack-size fruits that are perfect for lunch boxes, salads and picnics. 'Baby Rocky' is an early ripening, heavy cropper with smooth-skinned fruits just 9cm (4”) long with crisp flesh and an excellent flavour. This is an ‘all female’ variety so there will be no male flowers to pinch out and can be grown in the greenhouse or planted in a sheltered position outdoors.

A grafted cucumber is a plant where the root system is taken from one variety and the above-ground growth from another. This improves plant performance, disease resistance, and yields. The end result is a hybrid cucumber plant that combines the best characteristics of both parent plants into a single, highly productive and disease-resistant plant.

  • Garden care: Pot up young plants and grow them on until they are large enough to be transplanted, or if planting outside, all risk of frost has passed. Maintain a minimum temperature of 60°F (15°C) and keep the compost moist but not wet.

Plant them at a spacing of 2 plants per growbag or 45cm (18") apart in a warm, humid greenhouse or harden off young plants over 7-10 days before transplanting into warm, well drained, humus rich soil in full sun, with shelter from winds. Plant in single rows at a distance of 90cm (36") apart. Water well after planting until fully established, applying a fortnightly liquid fertiliser when the flowerings begin to set.
  • Pets: TOXIC if eaten
