Clematis Ooh La La ('Evipo041') (PBR) (Boulevard Series)
clematis el (group 2)
This climber is deciduous so it will lose all its leaves in autumn, then fresh new foliage appears again each spring.
- Position: full sun
- Soil: fertile, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: fast-growing
- Flowering period: July to September
- Hardiness: fully hardy
Large 12cm (5”) blooms of mauve-pink with a vibrant darker pink bar down the centre of each gorgeous petal make ‘Ooh La La’ a standout clematis of recent times. The flower matures and goes through a beautiful and subtle transition from pale, wavy-edged petals to darker mauve. Ideal for the smaller garden because of its compact size, and tolerating some shade, enjoy this free-flowering climber as a perfect patio plant or an accompaniment for a repeat flowering rose such as ‘Ghislaine De Féligonde’. - Garden care: In early spring cut back the previous year's stems to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm (6-8in) above ground level and apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the plant, avoiding the immediate crown.
- Humans: Skin irritant; Pets: Harmful if eaten
