  • A vivid and compact rex-type variety, featuring eye-catching glossy red leaves adorned with near-black veins, a central blotch, and leaf margins. The smallish, heart-shaped leaves are held on bright red stems, creating a dramatic display. This striking begonia produces pink flowers during summer and autumn and has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Among the most compact rex types, 'Red Robin' boasts an excellent shape, and is a houseplant sure to brighten up a shady indoor space.

We’re proud to support our British growers, and having been raised by one of our trusted UK nurseries, this indoor plant has a low carbon footprint, which makes it perfect for an eco-friendly collection or gift.

  • Home care:
Rex begonias require special care during the summer months. It's best to keep them in shaded areas and provide ample watering, ensuring proper drainage and maintaining a humid atmosphere around the plants. Avoid wetting the leaves or the crown.

As winter approaches, reduce the frequency of watering. Allow the compost surface to dry out before watering again. These begonias thrive with a minimum winter temperature of 13°C (55°F) across all varieties.

For optimal growth, feed them every two weeks from May to September using a high nitrogen fertiliser.
  • Humans/Pets: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
