Rich red petals flamed with margins of fiery orange give ‘Icoon’ an eye-catching afterglow among cooler blue-green leaves. Their short, sturdy stems make them ideal for growing in windy or exposed positions and they rarely get flattened by heavy spring downpours. Grown here, in the image, alongside Anemone ‘Blue-Flowered’. - Garden care: In November or December plant bulbs 15-20cm (6-8in) deep in fertile, well-drained soil. After flowering deadhead and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser each week for the first month. Once the foliage has died down naturally lift the bulbs and store in a cool greenhouse.
