Zinnia ‘Zinderella Purple’ is a bushy annual that erupts with colourful blooms from midsummer through to the first frosts. The upright plants produce sturdy stems topped with 5cm (2in) wide flowers in delightful shades of purple and magenta pink. Both single and crested scabiosa-like double forms arise, composed of layers of frilly petals surrounding a striking dark central eye - the ruffled symmetry being irresistible to pollinators and cutflower enthusiasts alike.
Grow on under glass and plant out once all risk of frost has passed. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth, and feed at regular intervals with a high-potash fertiliser throughout summer
