  • A rosette-forming succulent with rosettes of thick fleshy leaves which have raised white ridges on the undersides giving the plant its popular common name. In summer, Haworthia fasciata bears arching, wiry stems to 40cm (16”) long carrying tubular white flowers. This zebra cactus adds interest to to other complementary and contrasting cacti and succulents. This frost tender succulent requires protection over the winter and also makes a wonderful, eye-catching houseplant.

  • Garden care:
To ensure optimal growth, place the plant in a well-lit area, ensuring it receives bright light while being shielded from intense sunlight. It is important to maintain low humidity levels and promote adequate air circulation. During active growth, water the plant moderately and apply a diluted, low-nitrogen fertiliser monthly throughout the season. In winter, it is advisable to keep the plant relatively dry with a minimum temperature of 10°C. Repot in spring every few years into a slightly larger pot using a specialist cacti/succulent, free-draining compost.
