- Soil: moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil, or general-purpose compost
- Rate of growth: average to fast
- Flowering period: June to October
- Hardiness: frost tender (will need frost protection)
White flowers are produced in profusion on stout stems, which rise above bushy mounds of foliage. They stand up well to rain and put on an impressive show that can last for months on end if they are deadheaded regularly. If you want to add some other colours to the display, then blues, purples, silvers and softer shades of pink would be ideal.

Garden care:
Pot up and grow on in the greenhouse until all risk of frost has passed and they can be planted out. Pinch out the growing tips to encourage bushier growth, and feed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser to promote flowering. Removing the spent flowers as they fade will encourage even more to form.
